It was neat and clean, affordable and convenient. The room had a microwave and refrig. Additionally, the fireplace was a very nice touch.

The location was close to Fort Ord. There is a Safeway nearby with a Starbucks. Reasonable dining is nearby. Based on this, the Blue Lagoon was in a good location for my needs.
It is a low budget, no frills motel. No shampoo or conditioner. Clean but not updated. Towels with stains. Good for my needs -- which was a cheap place to sleep for the night near Fort Ord / Laguna Seca. It wasn't bad, but I probably would not bring my family here. Paid $114 (total) for a Friday night.

Great ice machine, good beds
Ridiculous fee/penalty of $250 for violation of smoking, when the owner/manager was outside smoking! TV was difficult to turn on/use

Very helpful manager, he recommended things to do, sights, the best beaches, and even an outlet center to us. He gave us tips concerning driving around the city of L.A. (by car, don't use public transport because it takes too long)

Strongly recommend for resting at all
Comfortable beds, clean rooms, ideal for a quick stopover as we only needed a place to sleep and shower before continuing our journey, and having free parking made it easy to explore nearby attractions.

Ever since my stay at the Monterey Fireplace Inn, I had my credit card hacked and has been used in Sherman Oaks. Maybe a lack of security at this location.

Very small rooms, breakfast is a joke, housekeeping ruined one of my shirts.

The staff was friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations for nearby activities and dining options. The room with two double beds wasvery comfy and tidy, perfect for our one-night stay. It was just a short walk to a fantastic sushi spot, a nice bonus. Only downside was the room size. It felt a bit cramped for a family, but given the value, we were satisfied.

It was comfortable, clean enough ....
Too expensive for that hotel :-/ I think the take advantage those days are the motogp at Laguna Seca. I understand it is an important event but it is too much money for 4 or 5 days. For the same money in Los Angeles I stay more days in 5 star hotel

Dirty room. Phone, tv, toilet flush all did not work until fixed. Breakfast abysmal - not worth bothering about, worst of a 22 day trip, and most expensive hotel on trip.

Paying over $200 for the King Room felt unreasonable, especially considering the complete lack of amenities-no coffee maker and just plastic cups for water. Entering the room brought an overwhelming stench from some strong air freshener that smelled more like bad cologne, and despite opening all the windows, the smell lingered. I reserved a King bed but received something noticeably smaller. It was hard to believe the front desk insisted it was a King. The lack of artwork, and overall, the ambiance could use more warmth.
